"Taking YogAlign sessions with Katerina was incredible. I had minimal previous experience with any kind of yoga, aside from one horrible session with Bickrams hot yoga when I did not know what I was getting myself into, so I was nervous to try it again. But a friend told me about YogAlign, and how it was a body-friendly form of yoga that would help with my painful back problems. The class had all kinds of students, from the highly experienced down to me, the absolute beginner. I was sure I would stand out as the one who didn't know how to do anything. But Katerina worked with me to get me comfortable with it right away, and she took a lot of time to learn what I needed and where to focus.
To my pleasant surprise, I learned that YogAlign actually felt good to practice! I was scared there would be difficult and painful poses or exercises I could not achieve. There were things I could not do as well as some other students, but they were not painful. Katerina helped me adjust the exercises so they best fit my needs and abilities. Breathing right, stretching, good posture, and constant, simple awareness of myself and my movements as I go through life; these are the main things I took from the classes. I feel stronger, I have less daily pain (which, living with degenerative scoliosis, is a huge difference from the past), and if I do have bad pain days, I can alleviate a lot of it just by doing what I learned at YogAlign.
